Buff Tutorial

by Stav

  • Development - use for construction
  • Science - use for research
  • Interior - collecting more rss inside the base
  • Strategy - faster healing time
  • Security- for training troops
  • First Lady - approving others buff, not relevant here, if someone wants to know more please feel free to ask me.

Side note: development buff also adds buff to research tand science buff for construction time, but in both cases it’s not recommended to use it, because it’s not as efficient . (For example- while development buff will give you 50% speed up for construction, science will give you only 25% for construction)

2. How to use each buff correctly

In general, except from interior buff (which I will explain next) you need to first get the buff and only afterwards to start the construction/ research/ training etc.

For example: if you want to train troops, you need to get the buff first and only start to train while you have the buff, otherwise it won’t work. Same for construction, research and healing, first get the buff, and when you have the bufs start the building etc.

It’s important to realize that the buff can’t change the time for processes, so if you already start research, construction etc without the buff, the buff won’t affect the time left.

Remember: Start the process while you have the buff, not before when you are in the queue and not after the buff already passed to the next person.

For interior buff: Apply when you have max rss inside the base for iron mine and/or farm land (or very high), in order to increase the iron/food collecting amount. For coins- the buff increase coin production and not the coin output as for the others, so it doesn’t really helpful since you only get the buff for 5 minutes.

3. How to apply

Click on your profile pic (or any other players from the server) —> click on #767 (under your kill amount, next to the alliance) —> find the relevant buff for your need and click on him —> click on the “apply” box.

The fact you applied doesn’t mean that you have the buff, please keep reading

4. what is happening after I applied?

There are 2 queues for each buff.

The “normal” one and the one you can only see if you click on “list”, the “list” is located near the “apply” button, from the right.

After someone applied for the buff he needs to wait for First Lady approval, to go from the waiting list to the regular queue, since every request for every buff need to be manually approved by First Lady.

Only when you are in the regular queue you can check the estimate time when you will get the buff, assuming there are no prios.

5. How do I know I have the buff, what’s happening if I’m offline?

Checking ahead: After FL approved the request you can check your estimate time by entering the buff again, and finding yourself in the queue, Under your username you could see the estimated hour to when you will get the buff. (assuming there are no prios the hour will be correct without delays).

Getting the buff when you are online: When you get the buff you will get a notification in the middle of your screen if you are online, telling you the buff is yours, same notification will appear when the buff moves to the next person and it isn’t yours anymore.

Offline: you can turn on notifications for buffs, that way when you get the buff you will get notification even if you are offline and you could log in and use it.

6. Time

Each person gets the buff for 5 minutes.

Some players are allowed to ask prio, if someone after you gets prio your turn will still be at least 4:40 minutes (4:40-5:00) since we need (and only can) give prio manually after it’s at least 4:40 and before 5:00, when it’s automatically change to the next person in line.

No, it’s not possible for us to give the buff for less than 4:40, even if we will dismiss the person, the system won’t pass it to the next person before, the buff will just stay “vacant”, that’s why asking buffs for 10 seconds isn’t possible.

7. Prios

Every week the president send a mail about the prios, which he decides with all FL and r5s. Prios purpose is to help the server, push us to be better and at the same time not to weaken and not to hurt the lower levels, and also not to make First Lady a slave.

In order to get prio (by the following list) you need to apply for the desired buff and afterwards to send a pm to the First Lady in duty, to ask her kindly for prio to your desired buff. (Cant speak for Saar/duck/ghost but if someone will write to me “prio now” I won’t give him prio, being nice doesn’t cost a thing”)

For this moment prios are:

  • Players with HQ 28 and above can ask prio once a day for each buff. (And tbh, we have few of them, and most don’t ask prio/ ask only once- twice a week, for construction or tech, so it’s not something to be mad about)
  • Players with HQ 27 can ask once a day prio for tech and construction, but not when it overlaps the vs, no prio for construction on construction day, or for research in research day.
  • Players with HQ 26 can ask prio only once a day for construction and only for wall/ tech center and hq, and not in vs construction day.

8. SvS and buffs

SvS affects the buffs.

If we are the attacking side and we win not only that we improve our buffs for a week (for example instead of 50% for construction it will be 60%) etc, but also we win 2 extra buffs, one who add speed for marching and increase casualties for the other side and more important another construction/ research buff, which will give 60% for both of them, which more meaningful than I can explain for the server improvement and growing, and also as I’m sure you could’ve seen, for construction and research days.

If we are the defending side, we have to win. There is no “if we loose” because losing means losing the buffs completely for a whole week. So when we are saying SvS matters, there is a good reason for that, so if you can, if you don’t have something in real life, please move your asses and fight, don’t be afraid to lose some pixels in the game, troops can be trained again.
